The Suddenly's of God
Acts 12:1-10
Brief overview: During this time King Herod had just had James(the brother of John the Beloved) beheaded and seen that it pleased the Jews so he had Peter arrested also and thrown in jail. He assigned 4 squads of guards guarding him which meant that he would be under guard 24 7. Herod intended to bring Peter to trial after the Passover.
The night before the trail "Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up! he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists." The angel told Peter to get dressed and follow him out of the prison. "Peter followed him him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision." Have you ever been in a situation and wondered what and why something was happening? Have you ever witnessed a chain of events unfold and thought "I cant believe this!" Peter was living out a miracle in a dream like state. He just walked through it trusting God. This is what we must do many times in our walk with Jesus. We must trust. There is no situation that God can not and will not deliver us from. Just like Peter trapped in a jail under guard the Lord went to him and walked him out until he was safe. "They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him."
The Lord can and will bring you out of any situation. He can do for you what He did for Peter.
